Commiserations to our u16 Girls basketball team, who last Friday week, played against 2 very worthy teams in their All Ireland play offs of U16 “A”. However Loreto Dalkey came back fighting in the last quarter and won by just 5 points, leaving the end score at 37-32. The game against Loreto Letterkenny was also a very tense one, the girls held the lead for the first half. Both the third and fourth quarter were very tense. The girls only lost by a point in the end. This left the end score at 63-64. A huge thank you to the girls for their dedication to the team all year. And also to Ms. Carr and Ms. O'Brien, they couldn't have had so many brilliant performances without their coaches.

U19 basketball girls team
Tuesday 24th, our U16s and U19s played Coláiste na HInse here on our own court.
U16s were up first and showed they were a different class from the outset, taking an early 15:2 lead. They maintained a comprehensive advantage for the entire game, allowing all players to get a run out. The boys eventually finished up 48:17 victorious.
U19s then took to the floor against a very different opposition. From the outset, it was obvious that the opposing U19 team were a very strong outfit. The game twoed and froed throughout and with 30 seconds to go our lads were down by 2. Some exceptional team play led to captain Neil Kilbane's shining moment, equilizing with only three seconds left on the clock sending the game into overtime.
It was in overtime that the Ballymahon men showed their true class outplaying the opposition in every facet of the game. After the additional time, Ballymahon finished the Victors of this exceptional game 62:55.
Well done to both of our teams and their coaches, Seán Walsh and Dave Dempsey.
