Mercy Ballymahon School

Uniform

The school uniform is an important part of school and should be worn with pride. Full uniform must be worn to school every day. It is a part of school discipline.

Footwear: 1 st, 2nd, 3rd, TY and 5th Yr students must wear plain black or navy leather or leather look shoes. Canvas runners /shoes or boots are not acceptable.

A uniform check will be done on 1st day back at school in August to check that all junior students are wearing shoes. There is no reason for not wearing shoes. On enrolling at Mercy Ballymahon all junior students and parents were informed that shoes not runners must be worn.

If students have P.E. first class in the morning, the uniform must be worn into school by all students.

Students must wear uniform on days of matches unless otherwise informed

As stated in Student Journal, if for some unforeseen reason a student is unable to wear the correct uniform, he/she must go to the office at the beginning of the school day with a note from a parent/guardian explaining the reason for n o t having the correct uniform. A spare uniform if available will be given to student. Otherwise the student will remain at the office for all /part of that day. o On the second occasion of the student not wearing correct uniform, his/her name will be entered in the detention book.
