Leaving Cert 2023

Best of luck to our Leaving Cert students who begin their oral exams this weekend. Students will complete their Irish and MFL oral exams over the Easter break. Well done also to those students who recently completed their music practical exams.

GAA

Congratulations to our senior GAA footballers who produced a fine display last week v St Ciaran’s CS, Kells, in the North Leinster Shield final. Playing in challenging conditions, the team was victorious on a score line of 4-13 to 1-12. Next up for them will be the Division 2 league final. Well done to the team and their coaches Mr Kenny and Mr Jones.

LGFA

Hard luck to our U14 Girls’ GAA team who suffered a disappointing defeat in the Leinster semi-final last Tuesday. The team faced St Leo’s of Carlow in Mountmellick GAA grounds. The girls fought hard in very difficult conditions and made a great comeback just before half time but unfortunately lost by 4 points in the end. Final score 4-8 to 4-4. Well done to the team and their coaches Ms Duffy and Ms Gilleran.

Interschools Equestrian

Well done to all students who represented the school at Mullingar Equestrian Centre on Sunday 19th March. Well done to our novice team members who jumped very well on the day: Grace Carberry, Caoimhe McCormack, Maria Forde, Lauren Killian, Jenny Quinn, Ava Morrissey and Amy Keenan. 4th overall in the Open Teams: Ella Duignan, Gemma Whyte and Katie Duignan. 4th in the 1m Individual class: Ella Duignan. 1st (1.10 metre) Class: Katie Duignan.

Daffodil Day

Thank you to everyone who supported Daffodil Day 2023 in the school. Our students, along with the help of staff, organised a Cake Sale to raise funds. Thank you to everyone who donated online or in school on the day to this very important cause.
