Our 3rd year boys competed in the Longford Schools Gaa 3rd year blitz on Monday 5th December at Slashers Gaa club facing both Cnoc Mhuire Granard and St. Mel’s College. They played some great football and lost out narrowly to St. Mel’s in the final. Well done to everyone involved including their coaches Mr Nerney and Shane Kenny.

As the Year 2022 draws to a conclusion 5th Year Student Aisling Lane was delighted to discover that the Connacht Schools Athletic Board had chosen her as the ''Outstanding Female Track & Field Athlete'' across all Athletic events in Connacht for this year. This was in recognition of her brilliant performances in the All-Ireland Schools Championships, the Tailteann Games (Schools Interprovincial) and also the annual Schools International. At a special gathering School Principal Ms. Donohue presented Aisling with this unique and prestigious award, which Aisling was absolutely thrilled to accept.

Last week our 6th year students enjoyed an informative talk with Jacqueline Mellett from ATU Sligo who spoke to the students about the fantastic range of courses available there. Meanwhile, our guidance team presented a study skills seminar to our 3rd year students who are preparing for their Junior Cycle exams. Thank you to Ms O’Neill and Ms Walshe.
TY Activities
Thank you to Dr. John Dunbar, NUIG, who gave a very engaging talk on ‘Venom’, what it does and how it’s used in medicine. Students were delighted to meet the many friendly creatures which accompanied him on the day! Thank you also to Leanne Coyle who presented a Christmas bauble workshop to the students last week, each student creating their own personalised bauble. This week, we look forward to the TY fair which takes place this Friday December 16th.
